Thing 13: K12 Online Conference

July 9th, 2009 · No Comments · Uncategorized

For this assignment, I checked out not one, but two of the presentations.

The first was The Google Gamut presented by Kern Kelley.  Eveen though I already use most of the tools presented here it was great to hear someone actually lay it all out there and I learned a bunch of new things to do with the various Google Docs tools that I think will be useful down the road.

I also checked out Student Creation of Digital Documentories in History Classrooms prented by a bunch of people from Virginia.  This seemed a pretty cool for kids to do enrichment type work on topics of thier choice.  I’m visualizing a new feature to my classes this year where kids have to create something Web 2.0 a few times during the year using more thn one tool to help them get engaged with the material and build tech literacy at the same time.
